Baltic Business Hub was founded by Lithuanian and Swiss professionals who spent their careers in these business environments.
Lithuanian by background, living in Switzerland and active in the entrepreneurial scene, Ieva discovered numerous Lithuanian businesses looking for a way into the Swiss market. As a Swiss entrepreneur, Walter saw the mirror image: Swiss companies and investors curious about the Baltics but unsure where to begin.

Dr. Walter A. Balmer
Walter holds a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences obtained at the ETH Zürich, Switzerland. He then deepened his science driven interest in technology with a Ph.D. in geology at the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He completed his studies with a dual-degree MBA from Univeristy of Bern, Switzerland and Rocherster University, US. His managerial and leaderhsip skills allowed him to take over the position as CEO in his family business in the telecom sector and acting as a board member in various industries from laboratory services in quality testing to hospitality. He is also actively involved in industry associations and the current the president of the Swiss Gemmological Society as well as delegate for Switzerland to the International Gemmological Conference .
Ieva Paludnevičiūtė
Ieva holds a Master’s degree in Commercial Law from the United Kingdom and brings experience from both the energy sector in London and the health innovation landscape in Switzerland. While living abroad, she has maintained close ties to Lithuanian and wider Baltic business networks through active participation in professional associations and clubs. In 2021, Ieva co‑founded the Lithuanian professionals’ club “ZüriLit”, further strengthening the bond between Baltic and Swiss businesses and institutions. Sandra currently serves as the Country Representative for Lithuania at the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Central Europe.
